In May, academics Tomás Ariztía from Universidad Diego Portales and Tomás Undurraga from Universidad Alberto Hurtado participated in the XII Chilean Sociology Congress. Social Change and Diversity: The Challenges of a New Coexistence.
Both were part of the panel Sociology, STS and Environment: Research Challenges, together with Francisco Salinas (UDP) and Luana Ferroni (IDES-UNTREF). They discussed the intersections between sociology, science and technology, and the challenges they face in the environmental field.
Subsequently, Tomás Ariztía presented the paper “STS and Energy Futures: the case of Green Hydrogen”, in which he presented the results of the Fondecyt project Green Hydrogen and Local Energy Generation: energy futures, modes of valuation and the material affordances of two clean technologies (2023-2027).
